Meet Lauren W., Owner, Personal Trainer, and Instructor at Tantrum Fitness. Lauren started as the Owner for Tantrum Fitness in August 2016. Lauren has 21 years of fitness experience and owns another gym in Arroyo Grande, FitForever. Lauren’s interest in health and wellness began at an early age. As an overweight teen, she found the self-motivation that she needed to lose weight on her own through proper nutrition and exercise. Her personal success led to her passion to help others achieve a healthier, more balanced lifestyle. Lauren's Certifications are: NASM Personal Trainer, NASM Nutrition specialist, Zumba, Yoga Fit, AFAA Kickboxing, BodyCombat, BodyPump, BodyAttack, BodyFlow, BodyStep, BodyJam, RPM, Precision Cycling, and more! Lauren's classes are so fun you forget how hard you're working. (sort of) :)

Interesting things about Lauren: She has Triplets! Two boys and a girl who were born on 3/29/19!  She was an alto in choir for 12 years. She taught in the Kinesiology  department at Cal Poly SLO. She loves to donate to the animal shelters in our area as much as she can and has three dogs. 

Meet Amanda B., Burlesque and Pole Fitness Instructor at Tantrum Fitness since 2011. Amanda has been teaching at Tantrum since we first opened our doors. She has extensive experience as a dance instructor, entertainer and personal trainer. Amanda loves helping ladies of different ages, backgrounds and physiques find their inner vixen through her Burlesque classes. Amanda’s classes will leave you feeling sexy, empowered, and give you a boost of self-confidence.


Interesting things about Amanda B.: Her first job was as a dance instructor at age 16. She was a voice major at Cal Poly, she sings professionally, has two young children and is passionate about holistic nutrition.



Meet Ashley, Barre, Boot Camp, Cycle Circuit, and Yoga Instructor at Tantrum Fitness. A Central Coast native, Ashley grew up in Santa Maria playing various sports throughout school. She stayed local to attend Cal Poly, where she pursued a BS in Psychology while working on a minor in Dance. Ashley loved dance so much, that she took as many classes that she could fit into her schedule on top of a full academic load, and spent her summers taking dance at local community college.


her love for dance and fitness was reignited. Barre came naturally with her strong dance background, and she jumped at the opportunity to teach.


Fun facts about Ashley: She has two kids she homeschools, works for the Women's Shelter of SLO, and supports breastfeeding mamas as a La Leche League leader.



Meet Diane, Zumba Fitness and Hip Hop Fit Instructor at Tantrum Fitness since 2012. Diane was raised on the Central Coast and attended AGHS in the 80s. Diane's love of dance began when she was captain of the dance team in high school, and continued when she became a dance instructor throughout the 80s and 90s. Although life can sometimes be crazy with a full time job as a college instructor and two young sons, Diane has always made room for dance.


Fun facts about Diane: She owns her own consulting company. If she didn't dye her hair it would be all white. Diane can say her ABCs backwards. She choreographs routines for local dance groups and she can shake it like no other!


Meet Ruby, Box Mania, Cycle Circuit, Body Rock and Boot Camp Instructor at Tantrum Fitness. After receiving her Box Mania certification, Ruby wanted to further share her enthusiasm for butt kicking classes and earned a Group Fitness certification. With that, she developed Power Cardio Class that incorporates cardio and strength training choreographed to music.


Fun facts about Ruby: She is a Central Coast native, born in SLO and raised in Arroyo Grande. She graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development. She works as a Behavioral Counselor and Scheduling Coordinator at Family Care Network. Ruby has played competitive soccer for 15 years on a local club team, coaches girls soccer and recently joined a female soccer league in SLO. Don't let her fabulous smile fool you because this girl will make you work in her classes!

Meet Sigrid, Barre Connect Instructor at Tantrum Fitness. Sigrid has been teaching Barre and Yoga for over 14 years and brings her easy going nature to her classes. Her yoga education began in Arkansas, solidified in NY, and has been enhanced in CA. Sigrid's primary teaching focus is on helping individuals accept and work with their own body architecture, realizing the amazing diversity of anatomy and abilities.


Fun facts about Sigrid: she was raised in Jackson, Mississippi, got her drivers permit at age 14, her first job was playing Chuck E. Cheese, she lived in Swansea, Wales for a year, her belly button is pierced and she met her husband of 22 years on a blind date! Sigrid is a mother of two young children.


Meet Vitaliia, Zumba Fitness instructor and Hip Hop Fit Instructor at Tantrum Fitness. Vitaliia has been an instructor since 2011. Since she was little she's been dancing. Vitaliia's loves ballroom dance, hip hop and belly dancing! She loves to dance and that shows in her classes. Vitaliia says that you don't need to know how to dance to have a fun workout in her Zumba. Just follow her lead, smile and have a great time!

Fun facts: Vitaliia is from the Ukraine, previously owned a fitness studio for 5 years in Kern Valley and works in property management during the day.


Meet Sammie, Pole Fitness and Burlesque Instructor at Tantrum Fitness. Sammie discovered Pole Fitness in 2011 at our very own Tantrum Fitness! Since then, she has fallen in love with the strength, fluidity and community that Pole Fitness offers. Sammie is forever grateful to Tantrum for opening her eyes to her newfound passion for aerial arts, yoga, nutrition and whole body health and balance. 


Fun fact about Sammie: She has grown up riding and competitively showing cutting and reined cow horses. In 2005 Sammie moved to the lovely central coast to work towards her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing Management and International Business at Cal Poly. After graduating in 2009 she started on with Live Eyewear, Inc. in SLO where she is currently the Customer Development Manager.


Mireya is a central coast native who has a love and passion for body movement and expression. She believes that movement is a form of medicine and with that we can learn to heal ourselves from the inside out. 

She has studied intensively at the school of  Authentic Movements, in Costa Rica, led by Steph Gongora, Erin Kelly and Bianca Silacias, where she earned her Yoga Teacher Certification, in recognition by Yoga Alliance. 

To help feed her wild, free spirit, Mireya is also a well dedicated Pole Dancer.

She loves the challenges of strength, flexibility and grace, Pole offers, while also being able to infuse sexy, emotional and intentful dance movements.

With a yoga background and an adoration for dance, Mireya quickly became hooked on Barre, to crosstrain in her own practice and share her obsession of slow, isometric movements with others. 


Mireya brings a unique blend of mindfulness and new physical techniques that are sure to leave your mind and body feeling recharged! 

Her goal for all her classes, is to be fun, safe and challenging, while working in unconventional ways that target your body and mind. 


Fun Facts: Growing up Mireya rode horses and competed in shows throughout California, where she fell head over heels for Hunter Jumping. 

She enjoys cooking healthy dinners, listening to Electronic Dance Music, dancing in 7 inch heels and exploring outside. 

Most of the time, you’re sure to find her upside down, either standing on her hands or hanging from the pole!

 Meet Mariah, one of our Zumba and cycle instructors. She started at Tantrum Fitness as a member in 2016 and began teaching classes in 2017. Her love for Zumba began in 2012 when she became hooked after attending her first class!  Mariah's smile and contagious energy will keep you motivated during her classes.
 Growing up on the Central Coast, Mariah's always had a love for the outdoors. She takes advantage of hiking SLO county trails and enjoys backpacking in the Sierra Mountains. She is definitely a thrill seeker as you can often find her in the sky with her husband, Patrick, tandem paragliding along the coastal bluffs.

 Fun Facts about Mariah: Mariah and Patrick founded The Locked Inn, SLO County's first escape room in 2015. They recently sold their business and are pursuing other exciting business ventures!
 Mariah is also certified in Zumba Kids!
